Three Advantages to Using Inside Shutters As Window Dressings

My favourite style of shutter is Plantation Shutters by Eclipse. "What are Plantation Shutters?" you ask. They're a stylish window covering made of two or more framed panels and fixed louvers. The very wide louvers within the frame are moved by a rod that is attached on the inside edge of the louvers, where you cannot see them when inside the room of the window they're installed on.

All you need to do to open or close the louvers is move one of the louvers and they others attached to the same rod follow. If you need to get at your window, say for cleaning, you can easily pull back the panel of louvers, exposing the entire window.

I choose Eclipse Plantation Shutters for a variety of reasons;

1.      the main reason being that they give my living room a modern, polished appearance.

2.      the ability to control the afternoon sun entering the room. My living room window faces west. Now I can easily adjust the louvers to allow as much or as little sunlight as I want. Unlike blinds or curtains, when the louvers are closed on shutters they don't have gaps for light to enter. These shutters also help to block out external noise, as I live on a main thoroughfare.

3.      The third, and every bit as essential a reason for choosing Eclipse Plantation Shutters, is that they require minimal maintenance, requiring only a simple dusting.

Shutters might be initially more costly than other window fashions. However, they're well worth the long-term investment because of their durability, lasting much longer than blinds and/or curtains...and, can be custom-built to fit unusual shaped windows and arches.
