People hate vertical blinds!!!!

As the owner of a window treatment store, I hear that a lot! People walk in and look around. They notice a nearly endless supply of vertical blind choices.

They begin to warm up. As the variations of patterns and colors unfold before them, I show vertical blinds made of fabric, PVC, wood, I even have vertical blinds that are cellular and we can even put vertical blinds in your skylight!

Once they see the prices to go along with the selection they are SOLD! Most times LITERALLY!

Almost everyone wants to get rid of those old verticals they got when they bought the house! Mauve, mint green, old Florida colors maybe. You might want a whole new look or maybe you just want to freshen up the same colors. Whatever the reason, your efforts in choosing new verticals will be rewarded with a clean new look that works for you and your family.

Here’s a few facts.

Vertical Blinds primarily come in solid PVC material and fabric material.

Fabric vanes let light come in, much more so than PVC vanes, while still providing privacy.

PVC vanes are easy to clean and provide much more insulation

If you want the look of the fabric and still want it dark in the room when the treatment closed, you can get PVC backing to go behind the fabric vane.

Vertical blinds are very affordable and there are 1000’s of selections to choose from.

PVC verticals can be cleaned with your favorite gentle, water based cleaner. If you decide to clean your PVC blinds while they are still hanging be careful not to put too much weight or pressure when you wipe them off, so as not to break the pinions that each vane is snapped into. Make sure to clean the back of the vanes as well.

There is a special attachment you can get for you vaccuum cleaner that is specially made for vertical blinds, a feather duster, or easy swipe of a clean cloth once a week or so will keep your vertical blinds clean and soil free.

Keeping your vertical blinds clean will keep them new and fresh looking for as long as you own them!
